As it was in my mind when I started my career in Sales.

I also had a question that is selling an Art or a Science.

After a while working in the sales filed that I came to know that Selling is both an Art and a Science as well.

It is an Art as you are dealing with humans who have emotions and are unpredictable.

At the same time, you have to be creative as you deal with different clients with different thought process; you have to be unique and innovative with each of your prospects.

It is also science as you follow certain steps. (5 Steps of closing) and principles which if repeated correctly will make your outcome more fruitful and rewarding.

By following the processes, again and again, you will be more consistency in getting more results day by day. Qualities required are as follows:

Is one of the most important parts of your professional and personal life.

We are in the sales profession.

Which makes us the face or representative of our self and the organization we work for as a good professional we should live by the motto “Customer first, Commission second.

We should be proud of our profession, Performance product and company. Our behaviour and action should not be apologetic.

We are in this profession of sale to assist and help our clients to do that we have to listen carefully and ask relevant questions to identify the needs of our client and provide them with the right solution, not to manipulate them as there are unprofessional salesperson how to talk too much and do not listen to customers need and lose their sales and credibility in the market.

Conviction is one of the Essential Characteristics of Successful Sales Professionals:


To be successful in the sales profession we should always believe or have conviction in our product, Company and profession you should always be excited and sincere about your product. I always believed that the person how is not having my product or service is missing or losing out or being deprived of something valuable.

Upgrading Yourself is one of the Essential Characteristics of Successful Sales Professionals:


We were in the sales profession should always upgrade our skills.

Should know what are the new product our company or competition is come out with also upgrade our skills.

Also understand the market or customer trends from time to time to succeed in our profession, doing this there is less chance that you would over promise and under deliver.

Being in the profession where we have to prove yourself everyday day in and day out. We should always be performance driven there should be will to make more and more customers, put in the extra effort or go an extra mile to proof our self and perform better.

But always remember to do the right thing for the right reason and work with mutual interest for yourself and the customer in mind.

In sale profession, we should not only have skills to do the right thing but more importantly, we should have the "WILL" to do the right thing first time and every time.

We should be brave enough to continue despite the setbacks in our profession to be a good professional.
